Following her position with Kampuchea Newspaper, with the presence of the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC) in 1993 for the UN-sponsored elections, Daneth worked as a producer for UNTAC Radio covering hot social issues and their impacts on Cambodian women. During her tenure with UNTAC Radio, Daneth acquired considerable experience and knowledge from many foreign experts covering the election. Documenting this momentous period through the power of media and helping to record and present this historical event to her fellow citizens left a huge impact on Daneth and cemented her career in the media industry. Between 1980 and 1994, Daneth attended several courses provided by foreign experts in Cambodia on the fundamentals of journalism, TV and radio programming, in addition to a TV drama training course. In 1993, Daneth decided to become one of five women to establish the Women's Media Centre of Cambodia. Producing only one weekly program and hiring a private station to broadcast the spot, Daneth aspired for WMC to one day have a radio station of its own. After four years in operation, in 1999 WMC launched Radio FM 102 with 200 watts of broadcasting power. Daneth accepted the role of radio director. FM 102 went on to produce entertaining educational programs designed to empower female listeners, providing them with greater practical knowledge and skills that opened up opportunities for women to express their views on-air, to a public forum. In 2000, FM 102 received support from USAID through the Asia Foundation to expand its broadcasting power to become a 10KW station, enabling FM 102 to broadcast 16 hours a day with extended coverage in 11 provinces and municipalities. Over the past five years, Daneth has attended several training courses: a radio management course at Kentucky University, USA; the Management of Change course at VBNK; a course of the Journalistic Code of Ethics, which developed project concept papers for GIPA; a Radio Management study tour in Australia in 2003 and 2004. Moreover, Daneth has successfully lead the coordination of WMC's marketing division to secure fruitful partnerships with commercial and other non-profit organizations that want to advertise and/or broadcast info-tainment programs on FM102. In doing so, FM 102 is helping to raise self-generated income, which contributes to the sustainable development of the Women's Media Centre of Cambodia. Since management restructured in 2007, Daneth has been extremely proud to be the production director of radio and television at WMC. |

Daneth has extensive experience in media spanning some 26 years, initially working as a reporter and news writer. She was chief of the interior section for a state-run newspaper, Kampuchea Newspaper from 1980 to 1992.
