TV UNIT
WMC’s TV Unit co-operates with local and international NGO’s to produce television and radio campaigns on social issues in Cambodia. The department also produces weekly TV dramas, comedies and documentaries for the general public to view and explore topical issues in Cambodia. Programmes are broadcast on TV3, TVK and CTN and through seven contact provinces.

The TV Unit researches and examines “hot topics” in Cambodia and produces and broadcasts high quality weekly programmes in response to these topics. Through popular television genres of drama, comedy shows, documentaries, and vox pop formats, WMC positively impacts national audiences by broadcasting the following programmes;
  • Violence against women and children: anti-domestic violence, anti-sexual trafficking, prevention of rape, drug and child labor
  • Human Rights issues, including women’s rights, gender and the law relating to women and children
  • Family and community development
  • Health, birth control and spacing, maternal health
  • Education, advocating the importance of children’s education
  • Women’s rights in community development

WEEKLY TV Production Hightlight


A huge achievement for the TV Unit was selected by the Women’s Film Festival Committee in Paris, to screen a WMC drama called ‘Live’ which focused on human trafficking of Cambodian women, in March 2006.

EDUTAINMENT TV Production HIGHLIGHT


To broaden the capcity to produce more edutainment video, spots, documentaries, etc. on demand, WMC has two TV teams previously known as MT team and HT team. Today, they are known as WEEKLY TV TEAM (WTV) and EDUTAINMENT VIDEO TEAM (ETV).

WTV is reponsible for the project supported by Oxfam Novib and ETV is reponsible for producing edutainment video under financial support from EWMI and CCJAP.
